The sailed figure of Exhale, investigates the internal conflict of freedom and bondage of his own mortality.
Exhale leans back, bound by his dreams and ambitions, while striving paradoxically towards his goals. Adorned with three jutting sails representative perhaps of three whimsical wings, it is almost as if the figure would take flight. He is, however, tied down and bound to himself by his own attempts to move forward, stunting his progress. This is reminiscent of early models of aeroplanes and the undeniable motivation and determination of their creators.
